Mira

In ‘Mira’ I juxtapose portraits of a young girl growing from childhood into adolescence with pictures of trees in different seasons, suggesting the emotions of a stage of life where everything is in flux. The photographs evoke the classical portraits of the Renaissance, while the work is also a psychological study, in which each diptych gives a new dimension to the girl’s frame of mind. Details like the still-too-big dress create a quiet shift in the narrative.
